MAY 2018 BLOG
Early May
Following on from the success of last week’s perch fishing I decided to have a go at them again. I was back out on my friend’s boat as mine was still in the paint shop. Arriving at the water we were full of enthusiasm as the conditions looked perfect. The sun was just coming up over the hill that overlooked the loch and with clear skies it was looking like it was going to be a really nice day.
I thought the perch would be really up for it as I have often done well in these conditions in the past. It turned out not to be the case though and it actually turned out to be really hard going in the morning. I went back to the areas where we had been successful the week before, but it quickly became apparent that they weren’t there this time around. We did manage a few decent perch of around a pound or so, but we really had to work for them. Drifting on what every little wind there was and casting jigs to try and quickly find some feeding fish.
